Where to Shop and Eat in Naples

Shopping and dining convenience in Naples depends heavily on your specific address and habits, more than most newcomers expect.

Fifth Avenue South offers a walkable downtown mix of restaurants, galleries, and shops, worth visiting at the hour you'd actually expect to return for dinner, not just during a daytime tour. Third Street South is another Old Naples dining and retail area, and it's worth noting the route and parking situation from any home you're considering nearby.

For something further north, Waterside Shops and Mercato offer an open-air retail destination and a dining and entertainment district, respectively. Current tenants and hours are worth checking directly before building plans around a specific spot.

Rather than choosing a home around one favorite restaurant, use these districts to test the general atmosphere you prefer and the distance you're genuinely comfortable traveling for a regular night out. The café, casual lunch spot, and grocery run you'd use every week is often the better real-world test of a location than a single standout meal.
